Life Strategy Drama

One minute you’re in primary school worrying about friendship bracelets, hair braids and sleepovers, the next you’re in your twenties, finished college and dealing with actual big girl stuff. Everyone you talk to expects you to have your shit together. People expect you to have a plan, a path to follow, a strategy for life if you like. From what I gather this entails finding a find a real job, you’re meant to have proper relationship and have all the answers to the really hard philosophical questions middle aged folks keep asking about your life and were your heading. I DON’T KNOW!!...I don’t want a real job, I am not in the market for a boyfriend, I don’t know where I want to be in 5 years- time, hell I don’t have a firm idea where I'll be in five days’ time! (Lol jks I know I’m going to Waterford for the weekend, but you get what I mean). And apparently EVERYONE else knows their plan and its true…well maybe not everyone but quite a few. I've a friend who have succeeded internships in his dream company, another one who is heading to Dubai with her boyfriend to teach smallies out there and another who is settling down and building a house of her own with her fiancé and she is only 2 years older than I am!! So if my life strategy isn’t gonna follow the conventional route then where am I heading? (Answers on the back of a postcard).

My short term strategy involves moving back home for the summer saving up the oul mula then come September off to go traveling (even that isn’t concrete as have no idea where to go yet. Barr having applied for a few volunteer positions which I’m yet to hear back from wahhh L ).

The serious down side of this is having to move back home. I’ve been back for about three weeks now and it isn’t easy! Don’t get me wrong I love the fam but seeing the 24/7 is tough. The constant questions and inquires, the disapproving looks at eating a bag of crisps for breakfast… it has sustained me for the past 2 years in collage I will not keel over and die due to not eating a hearty bowl of Weetabix! The tuting and resigned sighs at the amazement of going out in a dress that “needs” ironing…no it doesn’t the creases will fall out and in the infinite wisdom of my secondary school teacher “it’s not a disco were going to” it is in fact to the creamery for a bottle of milk… they will not care the cut of my dress, mother dearest!!

And that is without mentioning the sisters LOUD and I mean ridiculously, defining normalcy, thank-god-we-live-in-a-detached house loud music. Which to make matters worse is the hip hoppy, heavy bass kind. Did I mention our rooms are right next to each other!!

And then there is the dog who is by far the craziest of us all...she is now terrified of her own reflection and shadows...which is inconvenient to say the lest when she decides it is necessary to wake the whole house at dawn due to this phobia...not cool Poppy, not cool. But to be fair she is also the cutest...look at her!

Anyways, onwards and upwards peeps :)
